LARKFEST MARKS ITS 37TH YEAR ON SEPT. 22
Upstate N.Y.’s largest outdoor street festival anticipates 40,000 guests to visit Albany’s Lark Street this Saturday
ALBANY, N.Y. (Sept. 15, 2018) – The Lark Street Business Improvement District (“Lark Street BID”) and Craft Beer Guild New York will present LarkFest, now in its 37th year, on Saturday, Sept. 22 from 10:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Lark Street in Albany.
This year’s event will include over 120 vendors selling art, craft goods, food, and more, along with 19 patios and live music on two stages at Spring Street and Madison Avenue.
“As always, this year’s LarkFest will showcase a multitude of the Capital Region’s best musicians, artists, food vendors, and more. We are particularly pleased to be able to invite guests to explore almost two dozen new businesses that have opened up in the Lark Street Corridor since last year,” said Dan Atkins, chairman of the Lark Street BID and co-owner of Savoy Taproom & Restaurant.
This year’s presenting sponsor of LarkFest is Craft Beer Guild New York and affiliated companies Lagunitas, Southern Tier Brewing Co., Bells Brewery, and Narragansett Beer.
“The Craft Beer Guild, Lagunitas, Southern Tier Brewing Co., Bells Brewery and Narragansett Beer are all proud to partner with the Lark Street BID and the businesses of the Lark Street corridor for a third straight year. LarkFest is a true celebration of the culture and soul of our great Capital City,” said Scott Delcore, assistant sales manager of Craft Beer Guild New York.
This year’s LarkFest will feature a lineup of bands and vendors hand-picked by BID staff members.
“Over the past three years we’ve worked with our community partners and the City of Albany to ensure that LarkFest is a fun, safe event for visitors, neighbors, and businesses alike. We’re excited to put on an event where we believe there will be something special for everyone to enjoy,” said Shauna Collins, executive director of the Lark Street BID.
This year’s music lineup features The Age, JB & Victory Soul Orchestra, Stellar Young, Kimono Dragons, MIRK, Apostrophe S, Greens, BENDT, Onlyness, Useless Cans, Ryan Leddick Trio, and Becoming a Ghost.
This year’s sponsors include the City of Albany, Albany Broadcasting and affiliated stations Fly 92.3, B 95.5, ALT 104.9, The Cat 100.9, JAMZ 96.3, Magic 590 AM/100.5 FM, Albany.com, Chatham Brewing, Nine Pin Cider, Albany Parking Authority (APA), Capital District Transportation Authority (CDTA), and Stone Industries.
